The Dry Seam Opens

Published

Stillreach's The Dry Seam is now an Oil Shale mine: the same Mining 5 work, numbers and finds as The South Cut. Carry your haul back to the Landing Station and the Last Leg Trading terminal pays 6 Credits a piece.

Oil Shale

The Dry Seam, at the end of the Survey Line on Stillreach, is no longer just scenery. A glossy black seam of Oil Shale runs through the quarry wall, and with Mining 5 and a Cutter you can cut it. Nothing else is asked: no Mission, no Rune Fragment. See Mining & Refining for the numbers.

It is the same work as Skatboll's The South Cut, number for number: a minute an attempt, two to four Oil Shale and 100 Mining experience on a success, one Oil Shale and 20 experience when the cut comes up short. A success can also turn up one find: a Rune Fragment about one time in six, an Uncut Sapphire one in twenty and, once in about a hundred, a Motherlode Slab.

A Motherlode Slab found here posts an ULTRA RARE FIND line in General that names The Dry Seam. Fragments and Sapphires stay quiet.

Haul what you cut back to Stillreach Landing Station: Last Leg Trading's terminal buys Oil Shale at 6 Credits a piece, as it always has. See Credits & Trading.
